Well actually, my dear anon, I bought my first ukulele about 4 years ago when I was going through my 1950’s phase, when I would wear girdles, fully fashioned stockings, and eventually developed what one of my best friends who was studying psychology at the time referred to as a “stage two obsession” with Marilyn Monroe, resulting in me spending about 6 hours in a hair salon to get my then-dark-red hair dyed platinum blonde and cut into a bob. Marilyn Monroe plays a ukulele in the film Some Like It Hot. So I didn’t buy one with being “hipster” in mind, I bought one because I was a massive creep obsessed with Marilyn Monroe, which is probably doesn’t make me as cool, since wanting to be a hipster seems to be everyones common interest these days.
p.s have since upgraded from a pale pink Mahalo to an actual decent one, which I don’t bring to uni as I find it to be a distraction.
